Now Hiring!

February 10, 2015

The Deep River Ballet Club is looking for one or two part-time dance instructors for the 2015-2016 season.  We are specifically hoping for experience in ballet and/or jazz, but all disciplines are welcome to apply.  Training and/or accreditation in RAD or ADAPT is considered an asset, but not necessary for application.

Classes begin in September and are typically held after school and into the evening depending on the instructors' schedules.  Wages are based on experience and educational background.

As we will be starting with an all-new teaching staff, we are open to working with the successful candidate(s) abilities and experience to define the job description.  Current responsibilities have included:

  • Preparing instruction and teaching dance to a variety of age groups
  • Preparing interested students for RAD exams
  • Creating choreography for each class for a year-end recital, choosing appropriate music and costumes
  • Working with the Recital Coordinator to produce the recital
  • Training pianists how to accompany a ballet class
  • Be available to parents and answer their questions

The DRBC is a volunteer-run club and instructors and pianists are responsible to an annually elected executive.

An application is available in a Word document or PDF file.  Completed applications may be e-mailed to drballet@yahoo.ca or mailed to DRBC, P.O. Box 985, Deep River, ON  K0J 1P0.

All applicants will receive a response acknowledging receipt of their application.
